Linda,

I wasn't able to find a group in Fayetteville, but Shoplifters Anonymous does offer a 12-step support group over the phone. You can find out more by visiting this link.

ChocolateGirl,

A therapist can help you learn new patterns of behavior. You already know that you don't want to go back to prison; ask your doctor to refer you to someone who can help.

I have shoplifted my entire life since I was 14 years old. I do not think that I will ever stop. It is as natural to me as breathing. I walk into stores and think that their merchandise belongs to me. I know that I need help but where do you go for help like this that could possibly land me behind bars. I have been to prison for my shoplifting and I dont want to go back. I need help and I know it. In the meantime, pray for me.

i have been shoplifting since i was 14 years old and i am now 43. i have 14 shoplifting convictions and once again am looking at jail time. no matter how hard i try, i'm drawn to stores like a moth to a flame. i would love to go into a program like someone with a drug addiction, 3 to 6 months for help, but i haven't found 1 program that will address primary the shoplifting addiction on a long term basis. is there any help for me?
