I tried the patch 3 days ago. It literally branded me like cattle! Part of the ring that was left was vesicles (rash of tiny to small blisters). Looks like I will have to do it cold turkey. My mentally - I did it once before - for 16 years - I can do it again. Though then I smoked for only a year. This time it was for 6. But for a long time, it has not not been enjoyable, more of a habit. I was also diagnosed with high blood pressure - 170/100 - and started treatment when I went to the doctor for this rash. Never had a problem until the last couple of years. How much will quitting smoking bring my pressure down? I'm a little overweight and starting back with my exercise like I used to when I lost 90 pounds 7 years ago. I stopped being dilegent with it when I started a job that took 3/4 of my day but that has now changed. My family has a history of heart problems.

I have smiked 10 or more cigerettes per day for over 10 yrs and have tried cold turkey and coulnt do it!I am now using patches i can honestly say i have not wanted a cigerette for the 3 days ive been on them i think i will sucseed ths time!!!!

I am sorry to hear that you got a nicotine overdose from using the patch. I hope that you will consider other methods to quit smoking.

I got a nicotine ovedose from the patch....it's the most horrible sickness, I felt like I ate rat posion.

I used the patch last night and with in hours my family was calling an ambulance because I passed out and stopped breathing. It apparently caused a reaction in my body with it. Please be careful when using this product, make sure and check with both the dr. and pharmacy before using.
